Grayl Geopress Titanium Purifier
Before we dive into my Grayl Hip Pack Review, I wanted to toss in a quick update that Grayl JUST ANNOUNCED their new Geopress Titanium Purifier here! With the new Grayl Geopress Titanium Purifier, you’re still able to purify your water with one press. But now, you can boil water over a campfire or on a camp stove like this one. Needless to say, I’m pretty excited about this. Here is a bit of detail about the new Geopress Titanium…
- Grayl Geopress Titanium is made of, as the name suggests, Titanium. Titanium offers great strength, long-term durability, and weight savings.
- It features a 24oz. capacity, with multiple options to refill throughout the day (one-press purification or boiling).
- It features butterfly handles for easy removal from heat sources.
- They have also designed a high-quality lid specifically for this system. This is going to help speed up boil times and keep ash/debris out of your bottle while using it in a fire.
- The titanium bottle features a nice D-ring above the handles for filling up in hard-to-reach situations (i.e. from bridges, cliffs, etc).
- Grayl has stuck with their one-way silicone valve on this purifier, so you can use electrolyte replacements & drink mixes without gunking up your purifying cartridge.

Grayl Hip Pack
Now, let’s get back to the Grayl Hip Pack…
It is no secret – I have gotten into “fanny packs” as of late (*I’m not ashamed of it either*). They are so handy for short day hikes or outings where you don’t need a ton of gear. As a result, the Grayl Hip Pack has become one of my go-to bags. It is a well-thought-out bag, made in the USA, and has some features that are really unique & useful.
Grayl Bottle Lock Hip Pack
Here are some of the features that I really appreciate about the Grayl Hip Pack…
- Quality Materials:
500D Cordura Fabric, Weather-Resistant Coating on the Zippers, Mil-Spec Webbing. In short, this pack is built to last, will stand up to the elements, and is made right here in the USA. - “Bottle Lock” / Water Bottle Holder:
This is a feature that is missing from almost every other “fanny pack”. But, Grayl really upped the game by including this feature. The Bottle Lock holds your drinking vessel of choice securely and perfectly distributes the weight side-to-side. - Versatile Webbing:
Around the Grayl Hip Pack, you will find various webbing & attachment loops. This is handy for clipping carabiners onto, attaching 3rd party pouches, or running an Ultilink system as I do. - Perfect for short trips:
One of the main reasons I like Hip Packs so much is for minimal day trips. They’re lightweight so you can move around quicker, they’re minimal and easy to get into while wearing. I love my backpacks too…But, hip packs really fit the bill for quick trips. (I also really dig them while I’m wade-fishing) - 4.5 Liters:
At 4.5 Liters, this pack is really roomy. I can easily fit a day’s worth of gear in here.
*Just a friendly reminder to be careful to not “overstuff” a hip pack with too much heavy gear. This can get uncomfortable and exceed its weight bearing capacity. - Price:
As with anything that is USA Made, you’re getting what you pay for. Sure, there are cheaper hip packs out there – But they’re not going to be made as well or as feature-rich.
