Helle Knives Review

For me, a Helle Knife is a working heirloom…
Something to be taken care of but not shielded from being used. Helle’s are meant to spend time in the field during the day. Then oiled, stropped & cared for at night so they can be passed down to future generations.

It’s no secret to those who have been with me for a while that I love Helle Knives. I bought my first Helle Knife back in 2016 after watching a video about their process of handmaking each knife and sheath. From then, on…I was hooked (find my first Helle down below).

Helle Temagami 14C28N Knife Review

(JUST LAUNCHED) Helle Temagami 14C28N

This knife is as beautiful as it is functional in the field. There are less than 600 of these in existence…So click the links below and if you’re lucky these retailers might have a few pop up.

Helle Eggen 12C27 Review

Helle Eggen 12C27

New for 2021, Helle released a 12C27 version of their legendary Eggen knife. I can totally see why this has been a best-selling design for Helle. It is incredibly comfortable and a pleasure to use for extended carving sessions.

Helle Gaupe Review

Helle Gaupe

The Gaupe is the knife that started it all for me and Helle. I bought this knife in 2016 and was immediately hooked. I remember selling other gear to save up to buy this knife. Immediately upon buying it I took it out for hike after hike through the surrounding Appalachian Mountains. This will always be a special one for me.

Helle Gro Review

Helle Gro

I refer to Helle Gro as the older sibling to Helle Spire. This knife is incredibly comfortable and a suitable step-up in size from the Helle Gro. It is also very reasonably priced.

Helle Kletten Review

Helle Kletten

I love a good EDC Pocket Knife just as much as the next person. And the Helle Kletten is about as classy as it gets. It’s not all looks though, this baby can create some feather sticks like nobody’s business.

Helle Lappland Review

Helle Lappland

No other Helle Knife has as rich of culture in my eyes as the Helle Lappland. This large tool was designed after the ones used by the indigenous Sámi people. The Helle Lappland is capable of doing anything & everything you can imagine (shelter building, cooking, fire prep, trail maintenance, and more).

Helle Spire Review

Helle Spire

The Helle Spire is a breath of fresh air for me. It can certainly be used by anyone, but the Spire was designed for kids. It features a comfortable handle, a large finger guard, and a blunt tip to promote knife safety. This knife is a great teaching tool when the kiddos gather around for whittling sessions.

Helle Temagami CA Review

Helle Temagami

The Helle Temagami was designed by Les Stroud (TV Personality, ‘Survivorman’). This knife was a big milestone for the Helle lineup as it introduced full-tang blades into their selection. Don’t let its beauty fool you, this is a proper & capable survival knife.

Helle Trofe Review

Helle Trofé

I love all of my Helle Knives, but if I was forced to choose, I think the Helle Trofé would be my favorite. This knife is so comfortable and I’m in love with the unique antler inserts in the handle. The Trofé is ideal for pairing with a small hatchet and folding saw for year-round camping or bushcrafting.

Helle Utvaer Review

Helle Utvaer

The Helle Utvaer is another full tang option from Helle Knives. It is very different in its design choices than any other Helle Knife, however. It leans more towards the thinner side than their other knives, but it is still plenty comfortable. It is the perfect blending of modern design with classic materials and functionality.

Helle Wabakimi Review

Helle Wabakimi

The Helle Wabakimi is another full-tang fixed blade knife designed by Les Stroud (‘Survivorman’). This knife is just as strong as its bigger brother, the Temagami. But it is shorter and the handle fills your hand a bit more.
