Today, we are taking a look at the brand-new Grayl Carry Project Bags! I have been quietly working on this project, behind the scenes with Grayl, for a couple of months and am beyond excited to talk about it now. So, let’s dive in and take a quick look at the new Hip Pack and Bottle Sling from Grayl in today’s video…

Grayl Bags & Bottle Slings
So, here is the skinny about the new Grayl Carry Project:
- 6 New Hip Packs divided between 2 lines:
The “Mission” line includes the maximum amount of pockets & webbing.
The “Transport” line is slimmed down for folks who need a sleeker bag. - Which one should you choose?
Maybe I should do a full video about this? But to put it simply, the Mission Line is what I would choose for outdoor use. And I would choose the Transport Line for urban/everyday use. - NEW Bottle Slings:
Okay, I was SUPER excited about the new bottle slings when they showed up at my door! I love a good “water bottle kit”…And this bag is going to be the perfect platform to build upon for this purpose. - How did I get all of these bags so early?
I am one of Grayl’s photographers for this project. I specialize in studio photography, so I did a lot of their initial top-down photos, like the ones you see in this article.

Grayl Bag Reviews
While I have had these bags for several months, I have not compiled a lot of in-field thoughts on them just yet (only because I’ve had to keep them pretty, neat & clean for the studio photos…I’ve already dirtied a couple up at this point though). That said, I do have some initial thoughts to share with you…
- Pockets & G-Mod Pouches:
The modularity of this system has been a LOT of fun to work with. Not only is the pocket layout fantastic across all the bags, but the new G-Mod Pods are rad! You can subdivide little “kits” into these pods and attach them to multiple places on the new bags. - Quality:
I have been impressed by the buckles, zippers, fabrics, and stitching on the new Grayl Carry Project Bags. These are high-quality bags that should last a long while and stand up to some serious use in the field. - Comfort:
I haven’t had a chance to use these as much as I would like yet. However, they are very comfortable to carry based on my in-field usage so far. The hip packs in particular have a HUGE lumbar pad, which reminds me of a high-end hiking backpack. Everything on the bags ride comfortably, cinch down tight, and stays where they need to be. - Overall Design:
Watch the video above to hear my full thoughts. But, I love these designs!
