Best Knives
Solid, dependable and useful knives are the core of any outdoorsman’s kit. I have tested hundreds of knives throughout the years. So it was difficult to narrow it down to a list of 7. But here we are…These are my top recommendations for you.
- Opinel No.8 Trekking: $19
Opinel No.8 Trekking is a classic, high-quality knife made in France that won’t break the budget (learn more here). This Opinel is great for all things outdoors and EDC (everyday carry). - Morakniv Eldris: $25
Eldris from Morakniv of Sweden is a small fixed blade knife that is perfect for just about anything. It’s super stout, high-quality and razor sharp. - Morakniv Bushcraft Black: $45
Bushcraft Black is one of my all-time favorites and I recommend it to anyone who loves the outdoors (bushcraft, hiking, camping, etc). - Tops Tanimboca Puukko: $101
Tanimboca Puukko is another all-time favorite of mine. This is a hard-working, no-nonsense knife that any outdoorsman will fall in love with using and abusing. - Fallkniven F1: $102
Fallkniven F1 is the official knife for Swedish Airforce Pilots. It is built for hard work and harsh conditions. This is a great all-around knife that will last a lifetime and then some. - Spyderco Bushcraft G10: $203
I first starting testing the Spyderco Bushcraft G10 a couple of years ago and it’s still a frequently used knife in my outdoors kit. It is rather pricey, but I can attest that it’s worth its price tag. - Helle Bleja: $214
Helle Bleja is the most expensive from this list. But if you’re looking to go all-out for the outdoorsman in your life, this is a piece of gear that they will not just love, but cherish. I call my Helle Knives Heirloom Quality for a reason.
