After having a great experience with the Tupik Tent from Battlbox, I decided to pick up the Battlbox Single Man Tent for some upcoming camping trips. I will keep this article updated as I gain more field time with this tent. But, for now, I’m excited about it and want to give you all a first look.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Battlbox Single Man Tent, it is a small bivy style tent, with a generous amount of breathing room once you get inside. Here are some of the high points…

Single-person capacity (with room for a bit of gear).
Built-in mosquito net & full-coverage rainfly.
High sidewalls in the bathtub, with good coverage by the rainfly.
Plenty of ventilation around the mosquito netting, bottom, and sides.
Mosquito net tent can be used independently or with the rain fly.
Great for low-profile camping.
Nice budget option for this style of tent.

With Spring & Summer camping right around the corner I wanted something a bit more protective against bugs and creepy crawlies. We have a ton of ticks, mosquitos, and spiders in my area (I had a black widow crawl up my leg last year in my favorite camping spot). So the Battlbox Single Man Tent was a great, low-cost option, with its full-coverage mosquito netting.

Mosquito Net Tent with Floor

The mosquito net portion of the Battlbox Single Man Tent can be used with or without the provided rainfly. Or, an alternative usage that I’m excited about is that I can use the Mosquito Net Tent portion with my poncho/tarp that I carry as a rain cover. I love when I have this sort of versatility with gear. And I will certainly be exploring all of these options depending on the weather of upcoming campouts.

1 Person Bivy Tent

I have always been a fan of “Single Man” bivy-style tents. They are quick and easy to set up. Provide a cozy feeling when you turn in for the night. And they are easy enough to pack away into a medium-size backpack if you’re hiking into a location.

And just like with the Tupik Teepee Tent, Battlbox did a nice job of mixing good design with an affordable price for this Single Man Tent.
