Is it Week Four of Behind The Lens already?! Time flies! I’ve been having a lot of fun with this series. It’s been nice to break down more of the specifics of each shot and give them a bit more attention.

Behind the Image: I decided to take a simple shot of the full moon this month. I always seem to go for really dramatic shots when it’s a full moon…But there’s something so awesome about observing the full detail of the craters and textures, as seen above.

STAY .
Behind the Image: Lately, I’ve been spending a ton of time in the mountains. It’s nothing for me to drive 5 hours one way, just to get to the spot I want to spend an hour in. And though the landscape and scenery are ever changing, my desire to stay in the midst of it never waivers. For this particular trip, when I photographed “Stay”, I had 50 minutes of sleep and drove every bit of 4 hours one way to catch the sunrise. It was exhausting, but 110% worth it!

A SKY OF A MILLION STARS .
Behind The Image: When I shot this image, it made me reflect on life and relationships. Alone as individuals we are very small in relation to the universe. However, as a whole, if we unify like the stars do each night, we can be something amazing…awe-inspiring even.
Today, I encourage you to come together with those around you. Put away the petty differences and politics of life. Focus on the fact that we’re all human and we’re going through this life TOGETHER. Your neighbor is just as important as you. We all struggle, we search for hope and need one someone to lend a hand or a shoulder some days. If we can grasp these things and take action, the darkness will no longer be as dark.
