Condor Terrasaur Review
Original Article: Over the past few weeks, I have been spending a lot of time using the Condor Terrasaur knife and I’m really enjoying it. If you’re not familiar with the Condor Terrasaur, here’s a quick description about it…
Joe Flowers (more about him in a moment), collaborated with custom makers on a multi-use fixed blade knife in 2009, suitable for bushcrafters, hunters, adventurers, and all woodsmen. The Terrasaur Knife was the result…What you’re seeing here is the first production version of this knife by Condor, in a compact value-based package. The goal of the Condor Terrasaur is to make an affordable “super bushcraft knife” that can be used by anyone, from the beginner all the way to the expert woodsman. With an indestructible polymer handle and ambidextrous sheath, backed by Condor’s lifetime warranty, the Terrasaur has arrived!

The Condor Terrasaur Designer
Meet Joe Flowers
I met my new buddy Joe Flowers, the designer of the Condor Terrasaur Knife, at the Campcraft Gathering in June of 2021. I noticed a bright orange knife on his belt and had to know more about it. At the time, I knew Joe worked for Condor Tool & Knife, but I didn’t know the extent of his portfolio of designs (I later found out that he has designed a ton of tools…seriously, a ton).
Now, back to the knife…
I wanted to know more about the Condor Terrasaur that he was using since it’s a departure from the classic wood & leather look that I typically associate with Condor. Once I saw him carving a bow drill set with the Terrasaur, I did a quick Google search to discover the affordable price of this knife. At that point, I knew I wanted to snag one of these and see how it performed.
Pictured above is Joe Flowers (the knife designer) carving a bow drill set out of eastern red cedar with the Condor Terrasaur.
Condor Terrasaur Review
While this is not my comprehensive review of the Condor Terrasaur (yet), I do have some initial thoughts about this knife that I’d like to share with you all as I continue testing it…
- The price of the Condor Terrasaur is right at just under $50.
- The Condor Terrasaur is a very neutral feeling knife, whether you’re using a strong fist-grip, choking up on the blade for fine work, using a reverse grip, etc. I really appreciate it when a knife feels great wherever/however I hold it like this.
- I really like the overall size of the Condor Terrasaur. It has a 4.2″ blade and is 8.8″ overall. For me, that constitutes it as a proper bushcraft/survival knife for my area of the world.

- I am beyond happy that Condor has switched over to 1095 Carbon Steel on their latest blades. Their heat treat seems to be fantastic on the new knives that I’ve tried as well. The Condor Terrasaur keeps a great edge, it is very strong (even around knots in wood) and it resharpens easily.
- I have not been gentle or dainty with this knife at all. In fact, I have pile-drived the Terrasaur through & around more cedar knots than most other knives that I’ve used. I have yet to chip or damage the blade in the process. And to show the flip side of the Condor Terrasaur, I have also done several delicate tasks with it and have been impressed.
- All around, this knife simply performs. It is proving itself to be a fantastic full-tang survival knife option that comes in at a budget price.

Friends & Knives // Knives & Friends
As you can tell, I am really enjoying the Condor Terrasaur. It’s not only proving itself to be a great knife, but it has a really cool story and a new friendship behind it. And that’s what this industry is all about for me…the people. I love testing gear…yes. But if I connect with the people behind the gear it makes things so much better.
And speaking of great people and new friends, I want to thank SurvivalGear.us for providing this knife to me to test. I met the owner of Survival Gear BSO (and his dog) at the Campcraft Gathering as well and he was a great guy.
