Welcome back to another photography gear review, everyone! Today I’m bringing you all a product that I’ve been using a ton lately and I think more people should know about. The Filter Nest by Mindshift has found a permanent home in my adventure bag and I use it every time I go out.
MindShift Filter Nest Review
The Filter Nest by Mindshift is, in my opinion, a must-have for landscape and outdoor photographers. This handy filter case is highly weather resistant, has a zipper on the front for lens clothes/etc and is capable of holding up to 8 filters at a time. I have placed everything from a 43mm filter in it, up to a 72mm. The Filter Nest has swallowed every size up with ease.
Protection for your Filters
We all invest a lot of money into our cameras, lenses and what we screw onto the front of those lenses. Why not protect them? The Mindshift Filter Nest is a small price to pay for protecting your lens filters. Coming in around $45, I can’t see a reason why you wouldn’t grab one for your kit.
Lens Filter Organization
If you’re like me, you can easily bring 8 filters along on an outdoor photo shoot. Without something like the Filter Nest, that’s going to be a lot of room taken up by those plastic cases that come with your filters when you purchase them. I recommend you ditch the plastic boxes and get a Filter Nest. You’re not only going to save space and weight, but you’ll also find that the Filter Nest organizes everything 100% better. Which makes it super easy and efficient to do filter changes.
Makeshift Workspace
The Mindshift Filter Nest is phenomenal for giving you an improvised workspace. It easily and securely clips onto your tripod. This gives a stable surface/workspace at waist or chest level to change filters, while you’re busy getting your shots. I am personally a huge fan of things that make my life easier. And the Filter Nest has done just that.

Mindshift Filter Nest (10 out of a 10)
The Filter Nest by Mindshift is one of those products that simply works and makes you think, “why did I wait so long to get one”. The filter nest is made of durable, long-lasting materials, which we would all expect from Mindshift. And it really does simplify your kit and make things more efficient in the field. I would recommend this to every outdoor/landscape photographer I know.
