Reiff Knives F6
It’s been a long-time coming, but I finally have a Reiff Knives F6 in for testing & review! In short, the Reiff Knives F6 is a pure tank. In fact, I have already decided that this is going to be my go-to Winter Survival Knife this year. And I am especially excited to have this F6 version with Green Canvas Micarta Handles.
Here’s a bit of info about the Reiff Knives F6 to get our conversation started:
- Blade Length: 6″ (cutting edge 5.75″)
While I typically prefer a shorter knife for EDC and Bushcraft, I really like a 5-6″ blade length when it comes to a primary Winter Survival Knife or my Get Home Bag. This allows me to do intense survival-oriented tasks with just a knife, in the event that I don’t have an ax or large saw with me (ie: shelter building, fire making, etc). - Overall Length: 11.25″
- Blade Thickness: 3/16″
Batoners rejoice…The Reiff Knives F6 is a thick & sturdy one! - Blade Specs: CPM 3V Steel, Drop Point with a Hollow Saber Grind
This blade shape and grind is a jack-of-all-trades. It slices well enough when processing game from of the landscape (which I’ve already done with the F6), but it has enough of a “wedge” shape for splitting small firewood as well. - Handle Material: Green Canvas Micarta
I love the grip that Micarta provides. And the look of Micarta only gets better with age! - Weight: 12.9oz
- Kydex Sheath
- USA Made w/ a rock-solid “Carry No Cares” Warranty
- Average Price: $384
Make no mistake, this is not a cheap “impulse-buy” knife. I can, however, say that this knife is pure quality, I know Stu (the owner of Reiff Knives) and he stands behind each knife that goes out the door with a rock-solid warranty (see above). I will leave the price in your hands as to whether you can justify the purchase for yourself.

Reiff Knives F6 Review
As I have mentioned recently, I always have multiple knives and outdoor gear in the testing phase. So, rather than waiting forever to talk about a piece of gear, I want to give you all a sneak peek at what I’m currently testing, my plans for it, and my initial thoughts. So, that is what you’re going to get in this brief Reiff Knives F6 Review section.
- Full Review:
My full thoughts about the Reiff Knives F6 will come later this year after I have had a chance to put it through its paces in harsh weather, with numb and frozen hands. Keep an eye on my Instagram and Facebook pages, as I’ll post updates there along the way. - Thoughts about size:
Just as I bump up the size of my Ferro Rod in the winter, I also like to bump up the size of my knife. And I can already tell you that the Reiff Knives F6 Leuku is a beefy knife that will be easy to control with minimal dexterity in cold climates. - Quality:
I first met Reiff Knives in person last year at Blade Show and had a chance to handle their knives at their booth. I could tell from my first interaction with them that their blades are built with quality at the forefront. And the same is true for the Micarta F6 Leuku that I have in my hands right now. The handles are perfectly shaped, the grind is excellent, and there are no imperfections to speak of. - Comfort:
All of the Reiff Knives that I’ve handled have fit my hands perfectly. The handles are perfectly shaped, feel very comfortable, and fill my palm very well. - Carriable:
The supplied Kydex Sheath fits the Reiff Knives F6 securely and maintains a low profile. The belt loop also swivels, which is a welcomed feature as I’m getting in and out of my vehicle, or sitting down at camp.
Reiff Knives F6 Leuku Survival Knife
I have already done a bit of modification to my Reiff Knives F6 sheath. My modifications are pretty simple, but they add a lot of utility. I have put a couple of ranger bands around the sheath to aid in gear retention and emergency fire tinder (ranger bands burn very hot). And I have attached a 3-4ft section of Paracord for utility tasks.
The Reiff Knives F6 Kydex Sheath comes standard with a Ferro Rod loop attached. But, I took this off for now so the sheath would stay a bit more low-profile.
