I have had my eyes set on the Think Tank Signature 10 shoulder bag for quite some time now and I was so stoked when I finally got one in for review. I actually first mentioned reviewing this bag back in May when I reviewed the Pixel Pocket Rocket by Think Tank.
Since then, this bag has been in my weekly rotation. I have used it for commutes, business meetings, photo shoots and to assist in keeping my gear safe and organized around the studio. So, with all of that said – How have I liked it?
Think Tank Signature 10 Quality
I was first drawn to the Think Tank Signature 10 bag because of it’s aesthetic and sense of quality. The leather, the wool-like fabric, the buckles…I could go on. But, I want to relay to you, that this bag truly is a remarkable piece of gear. Right now, as the bag is sitting next to my desk I can say that I have not gotten tired of looking at it since I received it in the mail a few months ago. It is one of the nicest pieces of gear that I own and it always gets compliments from onlookers.
Think Tank Signature 10 Organization & Dividers
The organization of the Think Tank Signature 10 gives you everything you need and nothing more. I can personally organize my kit with room to spare in most cases.
- Fujifilm X-T2 or X-T20
- 1-2 Prime Lenses (XF23mm f1.4, XF35mm f2 or XF50mm f2)
- 1 Zoom Lens (XF55-200)
- Accessories: Batteries, straps, rocket blower, notebook, pens, etc.
- As well as some misc personal items that I need, depending on the occasion.
Speaking to the quality again: The dividers that Think Tank put into the Signature 10 are remarkable. My favorite dividers yet in fact. They’re cross-stitched to give a unique, high-end look and they’re very rigid so they stay put to keep your gear secure. I also love how you can easily bend some of them to create shelves to further divide your gear, or keep it from falling out as you see above.
Think Tank Signature 10 Zippered Flap
In my eyes, one of the standout features of the Think Tank Signature 10 is the secondary zippered flap. Not only does this create more security for your gear while you’re doing street photography or traveling, it also keeps your gear from spilling out if you accidentally bump your bag.
As you can see above, I have the secondary zippered flap “buttoned” into the main flap of my bag. This is how I generally carry the Signature 10 unless I’m stowing it away for a period of time or traveling when I know I won’t be reaching for my camera.
Think Tank Signature 10 Grab Handle
The grab handle on the Think Tank Signature 10 is substantial and I never worry about damaging it or the bag, even with a hefty amount of weight. It is overbuilt, well stitched and luxurious, just like the rest of the bag.
Think Tank Signature 10 Comfort
Comfort is the kicker for most shoulder or sling bags. But I’m happy to report that the Think Tank Signature 10 is fantastic in terms of its comfort. The strap is very well padded and has a non-abrasive texture, so it moves well with your body.
I have carried this bag for long days of walking around urban environments, short hikes in the woods and everything in between. In fact, it is right up there with my beloved Think Tank Turnstyle 10 for its comfort.
* Disclaimer: Do not expect any sling bag to carry as comfortably as a backpack with dual straps. Each bag style has its own purpose. Backpacks are for all day carry with a lot of weight and sling bags are for casual/quick jaunts. That’s my opinion, anyway.
Would I recommend the Think Tank Signature 10?
I am guessing the biggest question you’re asking yourself is this: “Is the Think Tank Signature 10 bag worth it?”. I would say, yes. In fact, this is my new favorite sling/shoulder bag.
If you’re looking for a high-end bag for your camera system, this is the one I would look at right away. It’s gorgeous, extremely well made, uses nothing but the best materials, it’s very comfortable for a sling/shoulder bag and delivers on its slightly-premium price tag of $200 dollars.
