The Story

“This is Home” is my latest photography project that aims to document the Behind The Scenes visuals of my daily life as a full-time creator. The entire series will be shot in Black & White. With limited gear, I will focus on high-contrast scenes and of course, plenty of grit & grain.

The Camera Body – Fujifilm XT2
Fujifilm Cameras match my creative style perfectly. From the physical dials to the tones, the ergonomics, and stunning image quality, the X-T2 was a no-brainer for this series.

The Lens – Fujifilm XF23mm f1.4
Fujifilm’s XF23mm f1.4 lens is the highest quality lens that I own. But that’s not the reason I chose it for “This is Home”. I wanted to use this focal length to give my photos a more human perspective since this is the “focal range” that our eyes view the world in.

No Excuses

As a photographer, I got sick of saying the same things over and over: “I have nothing to shoot” – “If only I could visit or live in insert place here…then I could get the images I want”. So, instead of complaining and making excuses, I decided to make my everyday life the photography subject in this unique & personal series.

A Must Have for Self Portraits

Vanguard Tripods

All of these photos are shot by myself with the Fujifilm Remote App or a 2 Second Timer. So, great tripods are a must.

My primary tripod is the Alta Pro 2+, which allows me to get unique “top-down” angles and anything I can imagine.

My secondary tripod is the VEO2 and I use it for simple/quick shots. It is a phenomenal and lightweight tripod that can go anywhere.

Giving Back to Nature

GOBE Filters

Whether I’m shooting outdoors or indoors, GOBE filters are always on my lenses. Around the studio, I typically use their SCHOTT UV Filters for protection.
