This is my “OD Green” Carry, as I’ve been calling it. This simple EDC solution is based around my much loved Tuff Possum Gear “Pocket Possibles Pouch”. It isn’t meant to be an all-inclusive outdoors kit…Rather something to give me a few options in the field if I need them.
I spend a lot of my week outdoors on photo shoots for clients and/or hiking & camping. So, these pouches serve as a simple solution to grab and pair up with a knife as I’m heading out for a while. Sometimes I’ll carry just the pouch & knife…And other times I’ll toss it into a bag with more gear. Here’s a quick breakdown of my pouch setup & where it fits into my life…
Pocket Possibles Pouch
- ExoTac nanoSTRIKER XL: This is my favorite everyday carry ferro rod. It is really lightweight but highly efficient for its size.
- Benchmade Bugout: I hate being that guy with yet another Benchmade Bugout…But goodness, this knife is phenomenal and definitely lives up to the hype. It’s so lightweight, yet capable of doing so much. It’s quickly becoming a favorite in my EDC Rotation.
- Tuff Possum Gear “Pocket Possibles Pouch”: The Pocket Possibles Pouch is top notch in terms of design, durability, materials, and performance. And it actually fits into your pocket, which is awesome, since most of these pouches do not.
- ExoTac titanLIGHT: The titanLIGHT is a rugged & waterproof alternative to a Zippo. I always like having one around to burn the ends of paracord or light a candle/gas stove. A sure-flame is also a nice option on cold or wet mornings at camp when you don’t want a lot of hassle to get your fire going.
- ExoTac ripSPOOL: The ripSPOOL is essentially the multitool of every day carry/outdoor tools, as I see it. If McGyver could’ve had one of these, he would’ve. I always seem to find a use for this tool in my everyday life. It contains 60ft. of 30lb. test line, a sail needle, duct tape, firecord and a hollow area on the inside where you can fit small/slender objects (such as a make-shift fishing kit).
- What’s not pictured: On the inside of my pocket possibles pouch, I generally keep a bit of Jute Twine to aid in fire starting and a small hank of bank line. I always have a flashlight in my pocket (typically the Streamlight Microstream USB), along with my wallet, a Pokka Pen, and a simple bandana. These are all things I use in my general everyday life, so it keeps my bases covered.
