One of my go-to firestarters since 2018 has been an Uberleben Ferro Rod. I have used them extensively in harsh winter survival classes, on camping trips, to get the backyard fire pit lit, and everything in between. To kick off this Uberleben Ferro Rod Review is the Überleben Zünden Ferro Rod. This is a simple, yet classy fire starter that looks better with age due to its hardwood handle. The exposed Ferro Rod length is 2.5″, which is almost always more than enough to get the most stubborn fire lay raging. And the hardwood handle gives you a great place to grab onto whether your hands are cold, in gloves, or sweaty.

Uberleben Kraftig Ferro Rod

If you really wanna have some fire-starting fun, pick up the Überleben Kråftig Ferro Rod! This is one of the largest ferro rods on the market and it is a certified workhorse. It is my go-to for Winter Survival Classes and real-world scenarios that I believe I might have to actually rely on my skills + gear to make it through harsh conditions.

A ferro rod is essentially an easy-to-hold block of ferrocerium. Ferro Rod’s shower sparks down toward combustible tinder materials at 5,500º Degrees Fahrenheit (yeah, super hot)! The Überleben Hexå 3″ Ferro Rod makes for an excellent EDC Ferro Rod. It is compact enough to fit in any pants or jacket pocket. But, don’t let its compact size fool you, it packs a punch at 3″ Long x 1/2″ Thick. This is an excellent addition to anybody’s EDC if you plan on being outdoors and could potentially need a fire for warmth, boiling water, or cooking.

Ferro Rods by themselves are very effective fire starting tools. But, whenever you pair them up with a tinder source (ie: something that will accept a spark and keep burning), they’re even better. And that’s where the Überleben Tindår Wick & Bellow comes in. The hemp rope is infused with Parrafin Wax to increase its burning efficiency. And the aluminum sleeve doubles as a bellows for introducing needed oxygen into stubborn fires.

No, it’s not an Uberleben Ferro Rod…But it’s way cool and Überleben makes it! The Überleben Stöker Stove has been one of my go-to pieces of camping kit for as long as I’ve used their Ferro Rods. It is one of the most efficient twig stoves that I’ve used over the years and it takes up zero room in your pack since it folds up flat. I’d highly recommend checking this piece of kit out.

Uberleben Kessel Bushcraft Pot
Again, not an Uberleben Ferro Rod. But this Bushcraft Pot by Überleben is one of my favorite pieces of camp cookware. Whether I’m tossing this on top of the Stöker Stove, or directly into the coals & flames of a campfire – It has been a great pot for single-person camp meals since 2018 as well.
