Since it’s release, I have been extremely intrigued by the Condor Otzi Knife. It has such a cool, old world, utilitarian feel. And rightfully so, since it was modeled after Ötzi the Iceman’s flint knife/dagger.
If you’ve followed me and read some of my pasts posts, you’ll know that I am all for going minimal and lightweight. This knife, much like the Mora Eldris really outperforms its size, while remaining small enough to carry anywhere.
My simple EDC
For the past 6 months or longer, I have started to gravitate more towards a ‘woodsy‘ EDC (every day carry). This works very well for my rural location here in the United States since I find myself in the woods/mountains more often than not.
Condor Ötzi Knife
I am still new to the Otzi knife, so this is not a full review. But this knife felt like an old friend as soon as I picked it up and placed it around my neck. I’ve been very impressed by Condor’s recent bump in quality…Particularly their change to 1095 Carbon Steel for better edge retention.
Überleben Hexå Fire Steel
My good buddies over at Überleben recently introduced their 6-Sided Hexå Fire Steel. I’ve spent the past few weeks thoroughly field-testing this fire steel in wet + cold conditions and it has performed better than anything I’ve ever used before. The flat sides really work magic and breathe fresh air into this type of tool.
20 Feet (give or take) of Bank Line
I believe this is #8 Bank Line that I’m carrying. It is fantastic for small lashings, stringing up a quick shelter, making knots and so much more. It is also a fantastic alternative to Paracord for EDC purposes because of how little room it takes up.
