I was recently browsing around YouTube, watching some other gear reviews, learning about a few new products, etc.
I ended up stumbling upon BladeHQ’s videos about Spyderco’s History as a company and how they go about making their knives in their Golden, Colorado manufacturing facility. And I have to say, I was blown away by all of the info I learned about Spyderco from this video.
Give Part 1 of this video a watch below:
Some of my thoughts on the company:
Before watching BladeHQ’s video on this company I was already highly impressed and aboard the Spyderco Train, based on their high quality products.
I think Spyderco has done a great job catering to all corners of the market in both their high-end USA Made items and their less expensive foreign made items. All of which (that i’ve handled) have been excellent, and a value in their own right.

After watching these videos I am incredibly happy to support and promote a company (based on my dealings & their outlook in this video) that truly care about their product offerings. And most of all, their customers. They are a true American Success Story in my eyes. And I for one am extremely excited to see more from them as the years go on!
2 New Spyderco Reviews To Come:
As of today’s date I have 2 new Spyderco products in their testing phase. One of which is their oh-so-beautiful Bushcraft G10 Knife. And the other is their SpyderCo SharpMaker System.
SpyderCo Bushcraft G10 (Initial Thoughts):
I have only unboxed this knife, visually inspected it, carried it for a few hours on my belt and did some paper tests. (in fact it arrived yesterday) But my initial thoughts are that I am extremely impressed by this knife.
Based on looks & feel alone I can report that it definitely stands up to it’s higher price tag of $210(-/+). The fit & finish is a work of art…I’ve seen custom knives that don’t come close to this beauty. And talk about being sharp…This knife is in all honesty, scary sharp. Now, it’s all to be seen in how it will perform on my next outing. But I have high hopes.
Stay tuned for my Spyderco Bushcraft Testing:
This knife along with a Cold Steel Trail Hawk will be going on a trip very soon where i’ll be building a makeshift survival shelter with minimal resources. I’ll also be doing some fire making with this knife. And whatever else I can think of, to simulate an experience were I would need to rely heavily on this knife.
Spyderco SharpMaker (Initial Thoughts):
I’ll just go ahead and say it now…Go buy yourself a SharpMaker by Spyderco. Sure this is in “testing” right now…But my opinion is already set in stone (no pun intended).
This system sharpens far better than I could have imagined. As always with Spyderco, you’re going to pay a bit more than the competition. But the price tag is worth it. Trust me.
Wrapping Up (Follow Me):
Alrighty guys & gals…That’s a wrap on this short little post. I hope you all find the videos above insightful and enjoyable. Please go check out BladeHQ’s YouTube Channel and their site. They put out some really cool videos and they have some killer prices on their site as well!
