I’ve used a lot of SD Card Holders in my time as a photographer. I’ve stored them in the little plastic cases that come with the cards when you purchase them, I’ve been known to toss them into a small pocket in my bag (if it has a pocket designated for SD Cards), I’ve used some cases from Amazon and I’ve used the Modular Pixel Pocket Rocket here as well.
Out of all the SD Card carriers I’ve used and seen, the Think Tank SD Pixel Pocket Rocket is my favorite in terms of design & capacity. So, without further ado, let’s dive into my thoughts about it.
Think Tank Pixel Pocket Rocket
The Think Tank SD Pixel Pocket Rocket is extremely compact for its 9-card carrying capacity. The folded dimensions are around 5″ wide x 2.75″ tall and a slim 0.5″ thick, so it’s a breeze to slip this carrier into a pocket or small area of your bag.
Each of the 9 SD Card slots are clear, making it easy to identify what card you’re about to pull out. It features a clear business card slot in the back, which is nice since I hardly ever have a place to store business cards these days. The Pixel Pocket Rocket is also made of water-repellent 420D rip-stop nylon, which is sure to hold up for many years of heavy use.
In short, this product is made to the exact quality we’ve all come to know and love from Think Tank Photo.

Best SD Card Holder
Going back to the size, the Think Tank Pixel Pocket Rocket is small but capable. As you can see above, it folds out in an accordion style, which allows you to easily access its 3 rows of SD Cards (even though I have only shown 2 rows in the photo). Each SD Card row and slot has enough room to grab your card without fumbling into the next.
The overall design of the Pixel Pocket Rocket is simply the best on the market. It protects your 9 SD Cards very well, gives you plenty of room to work and it folds up small enough to fit into any nook or cranny.
High-Visibility Orange accents make it super easy to find, even in low lighting
Think Tank SD Card Lanyard
I love that Think Tank added a little Lanyard to the Pixel Pocket Rocket. This allows you to attach it to your bag. So, if you’re doing SD Card Changes in the field, you’re not going to run the risk of dropping your card carrier and losing everything (thanks for having our back, ThinkTank).
The clips Think Tank have used on the Pixel Pocket Rocket are extremely stiff as well. So you won’t accidentally disconnect it from whatever you’ve clipped it onto.
Think Tank Business Card Holder
Think Tank also included a sizable business card slot into the Pixel Pocket Rocket. Which is fantastic, because if you’re like me, you probably struggle to find a nice/secure place to store your business cards so they don’t get tore up before you get them into someone’s hand.
Sidenote: I’m embarrassed to say that I’m out of stock on my own business cards. But, in my defense, I did just rebrand my company, lol. And once I receive my new business cards, they’ll definitely find a new home in this slot!

Think Tank SD Pixel Pocket Rocket Value
As of May 2018, this bad boy is coming in at $16.75 (on Amazon) and I think that is a great value for what you receive! Think Tank puts out some of the industries best photo accessories and bags. And it’s so well designed as I mentioned earlier. I cannot imagine a photographer not being stoked on this SD Card Carrier.

SD Pixel Pocket Rocket (10 out of a 10)
I have nothing but good things to say about the Think Tank Pixel Pocket Rocket. It’s well designed, looks great (I love that pop of orange) and it protects my cards very well. I would highly recommend this to anyone who’s interested in picking one up and needs a great way to carry their SD Cards.
