I have been using the UCO Hundred Headlamp for a solid 9 months or so now and I have to say, I’m loving it! It’s one of the best headlamps that I’ve had personal experience with and for the price, it cannot be beaten. But, before you head over to Amazon and pick one up for yourself, let’s talk about some of its specifics.
UCO Hundred Specs
Weight: Straight away, this bad boy is a lightweight, coming in at a mere 1.8oz (with batteries). Which means, this headlamp does not weigh you down while it’s in a pocket or on your noggin’.
Design: The UCO Hundred headlamp is a good looking piece of gear. It features a real wooden face and a paisley bandana print strap (though it comes in multiple other designs).
Light Output: The UCO Hundred Headlamp has 3 output modes: Low, Medium and High (all white light). The modes progress from the lowest output setting to the highest. It maxes out at 100 Lumens, which is more than enough for my usage as I typically prefer it on “low”.
Common Batteries: I’m always a fan when a flashlight or electronic uses common batteries. And the UCO Hundred Headlamp does just that…It utilizes 3 Common AAA Batteries.
Battery Life: Well, I’ll put it to you this way – I’ve used this headlamp a ton over the past 9 months and I’ve not had to change the batteries yet. But, if you prefer a more scientific answer: 6 hours on high / 75 hours on low.
My Favorite Feature: Tiltable Head
When UCO sent me the Hundred Headlamp last year I was stoked on the way it looked. But, I guess I missed on the product page that the small lens tilted, as seen above. I’m personally familiar with headlamps where the whole unit fully articulates away from the strap and that has always been my gripe with headlamps. But the UCO Hundred Headlamp fixes this.
The small “lens” that contains the LED bulb is the only part that articulates and tilts away from you. This results in a much more pleasant and versatile user-experience. You do not feel a weight imbalance with this headlamp like you do with others. And the way it tilts makes it perfect for camp settings when you need to easily control your light direction as well.
Extra Note: The lens does not have notches or hard stops at any point during its articulation. Which means it can be positioned to each individuals preference.
Wearability
The strap of the UCO Hundred Headlamp adjusts very easily. It is made of a stretchy elastic material and sports two adjustment pieces making it easy to get the right fit. The best part about these plastic adjustment pieces is how low-profile they are. I never experienced discomfort with this headlamp strap, even after hours of use. The UCO Hundred headlamp also has enough strapping to allow you to fully loosen it and wear it around your neck when it’s not in use. I personally do this a lot at camp before it gets dark.

UCO Hundred Headlamp Review
The UCO Hundred Headlamp has been in my kit since last year and it will remain there for however long it continues to work for me (which I assume is going to be a long while). If you’re in the market for the UCO Hundred I would hands-down recommend you pick one up. At $25, this headlamp is an incredible value for anyone who loves the outdoors and needs to keep the weight of their kit down.
